15일 태국 여행을 파타야에서 마치면서

새벽에 일어나 수시로 변하는 하늘을 보며, 짧은 여행을 아쉬워하는…

어제 6~8시 사이에 단체손님이 많은 것을 생각해 오늘은 8시쯤 내려가 여유롭게 아침뷔페 먹어주고…그런데 코비드 전에는 이 호텔의 단체 손님의 상당수가 한국인이었는데, 코비드로 인해 베트남 손님이 몇 팀씩 들어오고 있습니다. 아무리 가난한 나라도 부유한 계층은 늘 있습니다.

아쉬워서 수영장이며 꽃과 나무들 사진도 찍어주며 산책…저는 뜨겁다고 룸으로 올라 왔는데, 친구는 아쉬워서 해변에 나가 한번 더 걸어주고…이 친구를 만난 것은 20대부터였지만, 해외여행을 같이 나와 본 것은 처음입니다. 그것도 둘이서만 14박 15일.

평소에도 잘 배려해주고, 양보를 해주면서도, 자기가 원하는 것은 명확히 표현하는 성격은 여행을 나와서도 같습니다. 그래서 여행이 편해진.

그리고 여행을 함께 하면 모르던 것도 추가로 알게 됩니다. 이 친구는 정말 여행 체질입니다. 잘 걷고, 음식 가리지 않고, 잘 자고, 변비나 과민성 장염 같은 것 없고, 멀미 안하고…게다가 호기심 많고, 여행에 진심, 적극적입니다. 오히려 저가 저질 체력이라 여행에 방해가 되는….

아침산책 후 샤워하고, 짐 챙겨, 12시 체크아웃을 했습니다. 송태우 타고 좀티엔 버스터미널로 이동해 1시 공항행 버스표를 끊고…버스는 만석,

공항에 도착해 바로 신속항원 검사하러 갔습니다. 8월에는 관광객이 늘어 대기자가 많다고 해서…오후 3시, 한가한 시간이어서 그런지 그렇게 오래 기다리지는 않았습니다. 7번 출구로 나오면 검사장이 있습니다. 요금은 250밧, 현금만 받습니다 ^^ 1. 줄서서 여권과 돈을 내고 접수하면, 접수종이를 한 장 받습니다. 2. 그 다음 접수종이를 들고 줄서서 검사를 기다립니다. 3. 검사 부스에 들어가 접수종이 넘겨주고 검사 받습니다. 4. 의자에 대기하고 있다가 자기 이름 부르면 결과지를 받습니다. 사람이 없는 시간이어도 총 1시간 정도 소요되었습니다. 비행기 출발이 많은 시간에는 3시간 걸렸다는 사람도 있으니, 시간을 여유롭게 갖는 게 좋을 것 같습니다.

코비드 검사가 없었으면, 파타야에서 반나절을 놀고, 밤에 공항으로 와서 비행기 타면 되는데…코비드 검사 받는데, 시간 많이 소요 될 수도 있고… 만에 하나 양성 나오면, 후속조치를 할 시간이 필요할 것 같아 여행지에서 반나절의 시간을 포기했습니다.

저희야 여행기간이 14박15일이니까 반나절을 포기하고, 여유로운 대기를 선택했지만… 여행기간이 짧은 분들은 그 시간을 포기할 수 없으니까, 오후여행을 하고, 밤에 공항으로 와서 바쁘게 검사를 받는 것 같습니다.

서로 교대로 한 명은 짐 지키고, 한 명은 공항 한바퀴 돌아주고…6시에 식사를 하고, 출국장으로 이동해서 여행자들 구경. 코비드 전에는 방콕공항에 서양인이 90%, 동양인이 10%였다면, 완전히 반대가 되었습니다. 공항은 붐비지만, 서양인 여행자가 돌아오지는 않은…그 빈 자리를 내국인과 인근 아시아국가 사람들이 채워주고 있는.

비행기는 15일째 새벽 1시 45분 출발. 자정 넘어 출발하는 비행기는 출발일을 혼동하기 쉽습니다. 예전에 신혼부부가 실수한 것을 본 적이 있습니다. 1시 45분 비행기다 보니, 졸려서 저는 졸고 있는데, 친구는 면세점을 돌고 있습니다. 여행이 끝나가는 것이 아쉬운가 봅니다.

* 14박 15일 여행 잘 끝내고 무사히 귀국했고, 입국 전 태국에서의 신속항원검사와 국내 pcr검사도 모두 음성 나왔습니다. 하루에 두세 편 여행기를 쓰는 날이 있어, 실시간으로 여행기를 시작했지만 끝은 3일 시차가 생겼습니다.

Ending of my 14-day trip in Thailand at Pattaya

Upon waking up in the morning, I looked at the sky that changed from time to time, missing our trip was ending...

We went down the restaurant at 8 o'clock today and had a leisurely breakfast buffet, considering that there were a lot of group guests between 6 and 8 o'clock yesterday. Before Pandemic, there were almost all Korean group people. Since Covid many Vietnamese were coming in. I found again that no matter how poor a country is, there were always rich people.

We took a walk in the pool and took pictures of flowers and trees because we felt sorry for the end of the trip. While coming up to the room for the hot weather, my friend went out saying she would walk on the beach again. I met her in my 20s but it's my first time to travel abroad together. It's 14-night free trip just for two of us.

She's who was always considerate of others and made concessions. However, her good point was that she expressed what he wanted clearly. So it was ok for me even during the trip.

And I also knew that I didn't know about her while traveling with her. I mean she's a real travel lover. She walks well, eats well, sleeps well, doesn't have constipation or irritable enteritis, doesn't get travel sickness. Lot's of curiosity... sincere, and active in traveling. Rather, I felt like I was in the way of her trip because I was not much strong in many ways as her. --;;

We took a walk around the hotel in the morning, took a shower, packed, and checked out at 12:00 pm. Took Song Tae-woo(car) to Zomtien Bus Terminal and got the bus tickets to the airport at 1:00pm. The bus was filled with people.

Arrived at the airport and went for a quick antigen test. They said that there were many people waiting here 'cause of the many people. But it didn't actually wait that long. The test center was inside exit 7. The test fee was 250 baht, only in cash ^^

1. Line up and hand over your passport and the fee to register. The employee gives you a receipt paper.

2. Then hold the registered paper and wait in line for the examination.

3. Enter the test booth, hand over the registered paper, and get inspected.

4. When an employee calls your name, go and get the test results. It took about an hour in total, even if there were few people. It took three hours when the departure hall was busy. I think it'd be better for you go earlier and get the test.

Before the pandemic, I used to enjoy my free time at Pattaya for another half day before coming to the airport at night and take a plane. But not now. We gave up our precious half-day time at Pattaya in preparation in case of a positive test result.

We had 14-night free trip. So we didn't feel very sad even if we gave up half a day. However, those who had a short travel period couldn't give up that chance easily, so they rushed to the airport at night after finishing their afternoon trip. And they were busy getting tested.

We took turns keeping one of our luggage. The other went around the airport. We had dinner at 6pm, moved to the departure hall, and enjoyed people-watching. Before Cobid, I thought, about 90 percent of Westerners and 10 percent of Asians were at Bangkok Airport. Now it's completely the opposite. The airport was crowded, but Koreans and people from nearby Asian countries were filling the seats occupied by Western travelers before.

You have to check up carefully the departure time of your plane. I've seen a newlywed couple who almost missed their flight because they confused their departure time.

The flight was 1:45 a.m., so I'm dozing off, but my friend was going around the duty-free shop. I thought she wanted to stay at the airport as long as possible.

* We finished our 14-night trip successfully and backed home safely. Both tests of the rapid antigen tests in Thailand and the domestic PCR tests were Ok. I even wrote two or three travel tales a day. Of course, skipped it over time to time, but it was fun enough.
