6. Idioms Using Food Terms - (식품 이름을 인용한 숙어)

영어에는 식품이름을 인용한 숙어들이 많이 있다. 구어체 영어에서 아주 많이 사용되고 있으므로 그 뜻을 잘 파악해야 한다.


a piece of cake - 아주 쉬운 일(우리 말의 ‘식은 죽먹기’ ‘누워서 떡먹기’와 동일하게 사용된다. ‘easy as falling off a log' 'easy as rolling off a log' 'easy as pie'를 써도 된다.)
Learning English is a piece of cake.
(영어 배우는 것은 식은 죽먹기다.)

(벽에 그림 거는 일은 매우 쉽다)

like two peas in a pod - 아주 꼭 닮은 것

milk someone/something - 단물을 빨아내다, 우려먹다, 착취하다(비슷한 표현인 bilk out of는 누구를 등쳐먹다, 돈을 떼어먹다, 가로채다라는 의미)
