물망초·노체인·북한정의연대 등 7개 對北 인권단체의 공개 서한 <로씨야의 명분 없는 침략전쟁에 동원된 조선인민군 장병들에게 보내는 공개서한>

동무들은 왜 조국에서 수천 킬로미터 떨어진 로씨아 변방 꾸르스끄에서 로씨야군 군복을 입고 로씨야 군관의 지휘를 받으며 우크라이나군을 상대로 돌격 명령을 받는 것인지 생각해본 적이 있는가? 동무들이 총부리를 겨누고 있는 우크라이나 장병들이 지금 왜 로씨야와 싸우고 있는지 생각해본 적이 있는가?
Comrades, have you thought about why you are in Russia’s border region of Kursk, thousands of kilometers away from the fatherland, wearing the military uniforms of the Russian forces, commanded by Russian officers and being ordered to charge against the Ukrainian forces? Have you thought about why the Ukrainian soldiers that you are pointing your guns at are fighting with Russia now?

2022년 2월 전면전 개시 당시 로씨아의 인구는 1억 4720만명, 우크라니아의 인구는 4100만명. 로씨아군의 전력은 정규군 90만명, 예비군 200만명, 땅크 12,240대, 야포 7,571문, 전투기 1,511대, 공격용 직승기 544대였고, 이에 대항하는 우크라이나군의 전력은 정규군 20만명, 예비군 90만명, 땅크 2,596대, 야포 2,040문, 전투기 98대, 공격용 직승기 34대에 불과했다.
When the full-scale war began in February 2022, Russia’s population was 147.2 million while Ukraine’s was 41 million. The Russian forces had 900,000 regular soldiers, 2 million reservists, 12,240 tanks, 7,571 artillery pieces, 1,511 fighter jets, 544 attack helicopters. Opposing them, the Ukrainian forces only had 200,000 regular soldiers, 900,000 reservists, 2,596 tanks, 2,040 artillery pieces, 98 fighter jets and 34 attack helicopters.

로씨아군은 압도적 물량 공세에도 우크라이나 인민의 항전이 계속되자 우크라이나 사람들을 학살하고, 전쟁과 관계없는 학교와 병원까지 무차별 폭격하는 만행을 되풀이하고 있다. 그럼에도 꺾이지 않는 우크라이나 인민의 전의에 로씨아군의 인명 피해가 늘어만 가고 로씨아 인민도 명분 없는 침략전쟁과 전쟁범죄에 피를 흘리기를 꺼리자 절박해진 뿌찐 대통령은 24년간 방문한 적도 없는 북조선에 도움을 청하기에 이른 것이다.
As the resistance of the Ukrainian people continue despite the Russian offensive utilizing its massive quantitative superiority, the Russian forces have resorted to repeated atrocities such as massacring Ukrainians and indiscriminately bombing schools and hospitals that have nothing to do with the war. Nevertheless, as the Ukrainian people’s resolve to fight remain unbowed resulting in mounting casualties on the Russian side and as even the Russian people become reluctant to shed their own blood in the unjustifiable war of aggression and war crimes, a desperate President Putin has turned to North Korea, which he has not even visited for 24 years, for help.

동무들은 조국과 민족을 외세로부터 지키기 위해 고된 훈련과 배고픔을 견디면서 군인으로 애국적으로 복무하고 있는 것이 아닌가?
우크라이나 인민이 우리 조선 민족에게 해를 가한 적이 있었는가?
Comrades, are you not serving patriotically as soldiers to defend the fatherland and nation from foreign domination despite the tough training and hunger?
But what harm has the Ukrainian people ever done to the Korean people?

그런데 왜 조국과 민족을 외세로부터 지키기 위해 싸우고 있는 아무 죄 없는 우크라이나 인민을 상대로 총부리를 겨누는가? 왜 로씨아 인민도 꺼리는 전투에 로씨아 군관의 지휘를 받으며 뛰어들어 동무들의 목숨을 헛되이 버리려 하는 것인가?
So why are you pointing your guns at the innocent Ukrainian people who are fighting to defend their fatherland and nation from foreign domination? Why are you rushing into battles that even the Russian people are avoiding under the command of Russian officers to give up your lives for nothing?

지금이라도 늦지 않았다.
총을 내려놓고 정의의 편에 서라.
우크라이나 인민은 수많은 우크라이나 사람들을 죽이고 국토를 초토화시킨 로씨아 장병이라도 총을 내려놓고 뉘우치는 모습을 보이면 안전하게 보호해주는 아량을 보여왔다.

The Ukrainian people have shown magnanimity even to the Russian soldiers who have murdered countless Ukrainians and turned the country into rubbles once they lay down their weapons and expressed contrition, safely protecting them.
